Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is common written test for those seeking admission processed of postgraduate institutes of Symbiosis International University (SIU) established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 vide notification No.F.9.12/2001 U.3 of the Govt. of India. Additionally there are ten more institutes of Symbiosis that have been brought under the ambit of Symbiosis International University vide notification no. F 9.12/2006- U.3 (A). This is a mandatory written test for admission into any postgraduate programme that has been offered by these institutes. However this is only the first step and a candidate has to further undergo selection process of the desired institute to qualify for the admission to the postgraduate programmes of this institute.
The Department of Legal Affairs in the Ministry of Law and Justice announced a set of guidelines to provide internship training to Law students from the National Law Schools across the country.A committee was constituted by the Ministry to frame guidelines for providing training to interns from the Law schools. This committee comprised of Mr. Mohan Prasaran, Ld. Additional Solicitor General; Professor (Dr.) K.N. Chandrasekharan Pillai, Director, Indian Law Institute and Mr. K.D. Singh, the then Additional Secretary in the Department of Legal Affairs.As per the instructions laid down, the National Law Schools would be requested by the Department of Legal Affairs to nominate students of the 4th or the 5th year of LLB course. In some exceptional cases, the 3rd year students may also be considered. No financial assistance will be provided by the Government to students who are accepted for internship training and the internship will be for a minimum duration of about four weeks.Selected interns would be required to either work exclusively for the Central Agency Section (CAS) of the Department of Legal Affairs in assisting the Government panel counsels in drafting pleadings, preparation of case analysis and other types of legal work undertaken in the CAS. Further some of the interns would also be allocated, subject to the exigencies of the work of the Central Agency Section, to work as interns under Union Law Officers, including Attorney General for India, Solicitor General of India and Additional Solicitors General of India. Moreover on completion of the internship training, students will be given certificate, issued by an authorized officer of the Department of Legal Affairs to the concerned internee on the basis of the certificate signed by the officer under whom the internship was organized.
Delhi University Law Entrance Admission & Merit Rank Procedure:
Admissions to all the courses are made on the basis of merit in the Delhi university law entrance test along with the preference of the law centres:• LL.B (3 year full time programme) - admissions are conducted on the basis of entrance test that expands over legal aptitude and general knowledge• LL.M (2 year full time programme)- admissions are conducted on the basis of entrance test containing multiple-choice questions in 7 different fields of law. Additionally the reservation of seats in the admission will be allowed as per the university rules.
Delhi University Law Entrance Eligibility Criteria:
• Candidates having graduation or post graduate degree with 50% for general candidates. SC/ST candidates need to have a graduate/PG degree with pass marks while CW/PH candidates need to have a graduate/PG degree with 45% marks• Candidates appearing in the qualifying degree examination or awaiting results of any such examination are also eligible to appear in Delhi University LL.B/LL.M entrance in case he/she has secured minimum marks as prescribed.
Delhi University Law Entrance Examination:
Faculty of Law - Delhi University was established in the year 1924; it was initially housed in the Prince s Pavilion in the old Viceregal Lodge Grounds but after 1963 the office moved to its current location at Chhatra Marg, University of Delhi. Presently, Faculty of Law presently consists of four units which are Master of Laws (L.L.M), Master of Civil Law (M.C.L), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Doctor of Civil Laws (D.C.L) and all these are directly administered by Dean himself. LLB Teaching and examination are conducted at three law centres which are CLC, LC I and LC II; CLC and LC I are both in the main law faculty building, Chhatra Marg, North Campus. Furthermore, each law centre has its own law faculty and administrative staff and teaching and examination at respective centres are conducted under the control and supervision of professor incharge of the concerned centre. DU also offers provision of evening courses at LC II, in Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, South Campus for students are studying along with job. Currently, the law faculty has a total strength of 80 full time and 14 part time teachers. Law faculty offers case studies to students with practical aspect of law, selective admissions, unique teaching methods, enhanced course structure and strict adherence to the standards laid down.
Degree Courses Through DU Law Entrance
Faculty of Law, Delhi University offers a three year LL.B course and a two year LL.M course. Students applying for admission should have graduated with atleast 50% marks. Delhi University admission in Law course begins in August and DU admission procedure initiate in July. Notification for the same is usually out by he end of April.
Criteria of Reservation of Seats:
As far as reservations are concerned, 15% of seats are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 5% seats are reserved for children/widows/wives of officers and men of armed forced including para-military personnel killed/disabled in action or those who died/were disabled on duty and 3% seats are reserved for Physically handicapped candidates. Additionally, admissions are based on entrance tests.

Bar Council of India performs a list of functions at par with section 7(1) of the Advocates Act 1961 which states:• To lay down standards of professional conduct and etiquette for advocates;• To lay down the procedure to be followed by its disciplinary committee and the disciplinary committee of each State Bar Council;• To safeguard the rights, privileges and interest of advocates;• To promote and support law reform;• To deal with and dispose of any matter arising under this Act, which may be referred to it by a State Bar Council;• To exercise general supervision and control over State Bar Councils;• To promote legal education and to lay down standards of such education in consultation with the Universities in India imparting such education and the State Bar Councils• To recognize Universities whose degree in law shall be a qualification for enrolment as an advocate and for that purpose to visit and inspect Universities or cause the State Bar Councils to visit and inspect Universities in accordance with such directions as it may given be in this behalf;o To conduct seminars and organize talks on legal topics by eminent jurists and publish journals and papers of legal interest;o To organize legal aid to the poor in the prescribed mannero To recognize on a reciprocal basis foreign qualifications in law obtained outside India for the purpose of admission as an advocate under this Act;• To manage and invest the funds of the Bar Council;• To provide for the election of its members;• To perform all other functions conferred on it by or under this Act;• To do all other things necessary for discharging the aforesaid functions;
Bar Council of India (BCI) is the apex constitutional body, established by Government of India under Advocates Act 1961 with the aim to lay down the standards of professional conduct and etiquette and also standards of legal education. The State Bar Councils does enrolment of advocates and enforcement of discipline is part of the obligations of the State Bar Council and the Bar Council of India exercises appellate jurisdiction. Although it comes under the purview of Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, Bar Council of India is a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal, with power to acquire and hold property, both movable and immovable, and to contract, and may by the name by which it is known sue and be sued.BCI comprises of 18 members out of which the Attorney General of India and other Solicitor General of India are ex-officio members. The other 16 members represent the 16 state bar councils in the country and these members are elected for a period of five years and the BCI elects its Chairman and Vice Chairman for a period of two years.

LPO is the next generation of high-end BPO attracting international law firms to set up joint units in India. Even the corporate sector is not lagging behind in order to deploy Indian talent. Growth Areas- The key growth area in the near future includes document review or electronic discovery, intellectual property offerings and other legal support services. Additionally, existing LPO players have started focusing on the rewarding Australasian, South East Asian, Japanese and Korean legal markets.Like any other outsourcing player, an LPO cuts down the costs and takes the pressure off the client. Manpower is the strong point of any outsourcing service provider and for an LPO; this is the most crucial thing to offer. This is one of the high demand segments is patent search which needs a strong technical background (engineering, biotechnology, pharma and other sciences), legal support and legal research. Skills Required- Candidates needs to be a law graduate to work in an LPO and he/she must have an excellent communication and analytical skills with a meticulous eye for detail. Remuneration- Obviously, the salaried are highly rewarding and have increased in the past three years. A fresh law graduate from a good institute can earn upto five lakh per year in an established LPO, without any bonus. Salaries are in accordance with one’s experience and since LPO is a budding industry, any prior work experience is taken into account. Future Prospects- Future is bright for those LPO providers who can show that their clients will benefit in terms of a reduced client cost, fixed manpower, better utilization of client’s infrastructure, comparable level of service by the LPO provider, and so on. Additionally, the present economic condition, the business is coming to those providers who can adapt themselves to the new demands of market and its clients.
