CLAT Each Law School conducts its own admission test and admits students as per its regulations. As a result, students aspiring for good legal education have to write a number of admission tests; and this multiplicity of admission tests has been causing tremendous hardship both physically and financially to the candidates taking these tests. Therefore, CLAT was a need to overcome all the above problems regarding the law entrance.

COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST The Common Law Admission Committee welcomes the young students from all over India and abroad to come and study in National Law Schools. CLAT scores are valid only for the admissions to 5 year programmes i.e. integrated courses (B.A., LL.B. (Hons.))
CLAT PATTERN: All Questions are objective type questions, with the following break up of marks:
1. English - 40 marks
2. General Knowledge - 50 marks
3. Mathematics - 20 marks
4. Legal Aptitude - 40 marks
5. Logical Reasoning - 50 marks.
ELIGIBILITY FOR CLAT: 1. AGE: Not more than 20 years. For SC & ST category applicants, the age limit has been increased to not more than 22yrs. 2. EDUCATION: 50 percent marks in class XII. 5% Relaxation for SC and ST category applicants.
NOTE: There is NO negative marking.

LAW COURSES: a.) YEAR PROGRAMME: L.L.B i.e. Bachelors of Law & Legislation
Because in early times lawyer had to make legislature also but today it is related to law only still we are using same abbreviation if we see now it is B L only Bachelors of laws.
Eligibility: (i) A candidate for admission to the above program must have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or an examination equivalent thereof, securing in aggregate not less than 50% in all the core subjects and English put together.
(ii) He/she must not have completed 20 years of age as on 1st July of the year of admission. In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST the age limit will be 22 years as on 1st July.
b.) YEAR PROGRAMME: LLM i.e. Masters of law
Eligibility: A candidate should have secured a LL.B. degree or its equivalent from a recognized University, having obtained not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. Candidates in the final year of their LL.B. course can also apply but their admission would be confirmed only after they submit LL.B. results with the required 50% marks in aggregate.
C.) 5 YEAR PROGRAMME: Integrated programme
Eligibility:
Valid CLAT scores
AGE: Not more than 20 years. For SC & ST category applicants, the age limit has been increased to not more than 22yrs.
EDUCATION: 50 percent marks in class XII. 5% Relaxation for SC and ST category applicants.
