About Law
WHAT IS LAW

Law is the set of rules which governs the behavior of person, companies, the government at the center and states and any other entity.

Legal profession is one of the most adventurous and exciting career and also fastest growing profession. Lawyers had a significant impact on the destiny of this nation. The leadership of pre-Independence India comprised lawyers. Gandhi, Nehru, Jinnah were all lawyers.

LEGAL EDUCATION:

Legal Education as an aspect of professional education has assumed considerable significance. Legal education is a vital link in the creation of knowledge concepts as well as in the application of such concepts in society. The need for trained law personnel in academia, litigation, corporate practice, government and civil society has increased significantly over the last few years and it is estimated that the demands for such trained personnel will rise far more exponentially in the years to come. There is therefore need to articulate a clear long term vision on legal education in India, where such a vision will be guided by a continuing commitment to excellence.
Knowledge of law increases one's understanding of public affairs. Its study promotes accuracy of the expression, facility in arguments and skill in interpreting the written words, as well as understanding of social values.

Legal education is imperative not only to produce good lawyers but also to create cultured law abiding citizens, who are inculcated with concepts of human values and human rights.

ENTRY INTO THE PROFESSION:

It is quite easy to get into an LL.B. Course, though some universities conduct entrance exams and interviews. For some good universities competition is as high as competition for entrances for MBA's or MCA'S. But there are universities which check the basic general knowledge of students and their entrance exams are not very tough. The LL.B. Course is designed to give you the knowledge of law but not the skills needed for the legal profession.
