NLS also organizes internships with law firms and corporations to hone their practical skills. Every student has a 36 day internship with a lawyer or a law firm, as per his/her preference. These first hand work experiences gives the young graduates an edge over his peers and helps finding better campus placements. Starting salaries of freshers ranges from 6-7 lakhs.
ELIGIBILTY-Admissions are based exclusively on merit as assessed in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) with the following qualifications-



  1. Students appearing should have passed the Higher Secondary school examination 10+2 system or an equivalent examination securing 50% in all the core subjects and English together, and

  2. Must not have completed 20 years of age on July 1 of the year of admission, in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category age limit is 22 years.


The test carries a maximum of 200 marks and comprises of objective type of questions on English, general knowledge, maths, logic and legal knowledge, of 10+2 standard. The test is of 2 hours duration.

Students from SAARC and other developing nations are given preference.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
-After clearing the CLAT examination, the student needs to send to the Registrar, NLSIU a demand draft of the requisite amount along with a confirmation letter of joining the course or not. The college takes no responsibility of postal delays.
